The Artistic Vision

A mobile lush, tropical oasis - something that makes you forget that you are on the playa, in a hot and dry environment where nothing grows. When you see the roving oasis coming your way you can almost hear the sounds of the ocean and smell the salt of the sea in the air. Smooth ambient sound complements the refreshing atmosphere. It's an oasis of lush tropical flora and fauna - even a parrot has perched to relax in oasis.

Decoration Ideas

General Theme: Lush greens and bright colored flowers.

Tropical flora and fauna: artificial tropical plants. Plastic plants are preferable to silk plants as they will hold up better in the harsh environment. Michael's carries a selection of plastic tropical "filler plants" such as various types of grasses. The flowers will most likely need to be silk.

Umbrella: A large thatched umbrella will provide shade to those on the oasis.

Lights: Lights placed under the umbrella and around the edge of the umbrella will help create ambiance. Additionally, lights will be placed throughout the oasis to highlight the flora and fauna. The lights around the outside of the umbrella will be decorative lights such as lanterns, tiki idols, or other tropical themed decorative lights.

Tiki Idols: The ultimate symbol of a Polynesian paradise. No oasis would be complete without a tiki idol, or two

Birds: Nothing says tropical like a beautiful, colorful parrot.

Lighting for night viewing

For night illumination, a series of lights will be mounted under the vehicle to project a soft blue light out and down onto the ground surrounding the vehicle. This will convert the oasis by day into a tropical island by night. There will possibly be some black lights to help bring out the most color from the flowers in addition to carefully placed LEDs to really highlight them and astound spectators. Headlights will be carefully mounted behind the decorations (such that they are not immediately obvious) and will be used for navigation anytime the vehicle is in motion at night.
